Scott Tran
Hi, I’m Scott Tran, the founder and CEO of WonderPlay and Coffee. I started WonderPlay as a parent who wanted a space where both kids and adults could feel at home—a place that sparks imagination, encourages play, and serves a great cup of coffee.
Born and raised in Chicago, I’ve spent years building businesses, leading real estate teams, and managing construction projects—but this one is the most personal. With WonderPlay, I’ve combined my background in hospitality and operations with my passion for community to create a space that supports families like mine.
When I’m not at WonderPlay, you can usually find me spending time with my family, servicing real estate clients + projects, playing golf, or hooping.
Trina Mabborang
Hi friends! I'm Trina, co-founder and Art Director of Wonder Play & Coffee in Avondale alongside my husband. We have a spunky three-year-old, Reyna, and a beloved furbaby, Jayden.
As the artist of the family, I’ve been creating ever since I could hold a crayon. I earned a double major in Painting and Sculpture in college and spent three years teaching Paint Your Pet classes all over Chicago before the pandemic.
After spending a couple years as a stay-at-home mom, I'm thrilled to embark on my next adventure as the director of Wonder Play’s art studio. I can't wait to share my passion for art with our wonderful community!
My favorite things to do with Reyna are playing pretend ice cream shop, reading Bluey books, going to the park, and trying new restaurants together!

At the center of it all is our 3-year-old daughter, Reyna—the true inspiration behind WonderPlay and Coffee. As parents, we saw the need for a space where kids could play freely, parents could unwind, and creativity could flourish. This isn’t just a business to us—it’s a reflection of our journey as a family, built with love for our community.
